Aviamagazine again visited the biggest military air show in the world held at RAF Fairford on 19 – 20 July. Highlights included Pakistani JF-17s and Il-78, an Egyptian An-74 and Qatari AH-64. Also first visits: Swedish Hkp16 (S-70) Blackhawk and Finnish Army Huges 369. Highlight in the flying display included a U-2, French ATL2 and the only airworthy G-91 in the world.

Static

Compared to previous years, there were less participating fighters on the static this year. Fortunately there were still enough interesting visitors. A first for RIAT was the JF-17 and great to see the Pakistani Il-78 support aircraft being parked on the static as well. Another highlight was the Egyptian An-74, an aircraft you rarely see on European soil.

Other interesting visitors included a Spanish S-76, Qatari AH-64, first visit from a German C-130J, Greek Mirage 2000s and a Swedish Hkp16 (S-70) Blackhawk. Really rare was the Finnish Army Huges 369 which was transported by road and re-assembled on-site.
