Great weather conditions for an action packed airshow with the RAF 100 celebrations as a center piece.

This years USAF heritage flight was flown again by a Luke based F-35. This time in formation with a P-51 and Spitfire.

RAF 100

The celebrate 100 years RAF, several eras were shown to the public. The battle of Britain, of course with the Lancaster, Spitfires and beautiful restored Dakota III. No less than 9 Typoons did a formation fly-by. Also the brand-new F-35B, just recently arrived in the UK, flew together with the Lancaster and a Tornado GR4 as homage to the Dambusters squadron.

A big disappointment when the Sundays show of the Canadian CF-188 was flown by the spare “normal” aircraft and not the NORAD special color aircraft. Probably a technical issue. Great to see the Couteau Delta back with their Mirage 2000s. Impressive was also the Belgium F-16 Solo Demo in a striking new color scheme and the Airbus A400M. This time the EC-400, which would be the last RAF A400 on order ZM421.

Ukraine Su-27

Last year the Su-27 demo from the Ukraine was one of the highlights, and this year it was as much as impressive. It performed the Pugachev’s Cobra manoeuvre twice, which is unprecedented by any aircraft.
