Hawk 1 / Lion 1

The Apache Solo Display team is well-known sight at European air shows and the flares used during the show set the standard for lots of display teams now a days. But it must be said, the Hawk 1 is still the most spectacular of them all.

This season the Solo Display F-16 lost its beautiful Lion color scheme. It still troughs lots of flares, but its missing the wow factor.

NH90 Demo

The NH90 used by the Navy is operated by the Air Force and also based like the other helicopters at Gilze-Rijen in the Defense Helicopter Command. The NH90 was shown first at the Air Force Days in 2008, but this year was only the second demo at the show.

Other demo's

Other demo’s included the Belgian F-16 Solo Display, which was excellent, especially on Friday with a thundercloud as backdrop. The Slovakian Air Force brought two “Tiger” MiG-29s, one of them during a demo. Great to see these 4th generation “cold war” fighters still being operational. The Hellenic Air Force showed the capabilities of the F-16C. Saturday the show was concluded by the Swiss F/A-18.
