The Blue Angels
Stars of the show, The Blue Angels. The beautiful blue/yellow F-18's and support arrived on Monday and gave there performance on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday there was a little incident when Angel No. 5 blew a tire during take-off. After a examining the damage the F/A-18 landed on the opposite site off the runway successfully using it's arrestor hook on the brake cable. The pilot rushed to the space F/A-18B No.7 and continued the show. Unfortunately a part off the show had to be skipped. Saturday everything wend fine and the Angels gave a great show with some impressive close formations.

Fat Albert
Blue Angel's Hercules (164763 C-130T) act as a support plane, transporting spare parts. But on show day's the C-130, named Fat Albert, is part of the show! On Friday Albert performed a low take-off .. how low can you go! Very impressive with a plane this big.
On Saturday Fat Albert did his famous JATO take-off. JATO stand for Jet Assisted Take Off. Eight JATO bottles connected to the Hercules (four on each side) , deliver 8000 pounds of extra trust, enabling Albert to climb 45 degrees during take-off to a height of 300 meters in 15 seconds. This is amazing!
On the next page we show you arrival & departure photo's of airshow contesters and FWIT participants.
