Royal International Air Tatoo 2005

This year's themes includes Surveillance and NATO tigers.

Surveillance 05

The Surveillance theme focuses on the aerial surveillance and airborne recognizance. Star of the show is off course the U-2 which this year celebrates it's 50th anniversary. The theme provide some rarely seen aircraft like the French 'sneaky' Transall , the RAF Nimord R.1 never seen before on a airshow and the Greek RF-4 wearing the rear green camouflage.

Surveillance 05

The second big theme was set around the NATO tiger squadrons. Traditionally the aircraft are painted in some degree with tiger- heads or striping. Highlights included a Polish Su-22 and full tiger puma. The Polish Su-22 (707) was accompanied by the a brand new Casa 295M, a first European airshow visit (photo on previous page). RAF 814 squadron displayed the new tiger Merlin and the US send a KC-135R from the 77th Air refueling squadron with larger tigers prints on the side.
