Australia Trip

In the coming months we will follow AviaMagazine's correspondent Koen Hartkamp on his trip to Australia. He will visit several airfield, both civil and military. Don't forget to check back frequently to this page, because it will be updated as the trip progresses.

Tokyo-Narita, Japan

On its way to Australia, AviaMagazine's correspondent made a stopover at Tokyo-Narita airport. Narita is one of two airports in Tokyo. Narita handles all international traffic and some domestic, while Haneda only handles domestic traffic. Narita is the busiest airport in Japan, with more than 400 flights a day. A remarkable fact is that more than 100 of these flights are operated with 747s. All the photos were taken from terminal two, between 2 and 6pm.

During the whole afternoon, just 10 out of 100 planes were narrow-body planes, like Fokker 50s and RJ-200s. In December, AviaMagazine will be back in Tokyo to visit Narita again, but also Haneda and some military fields, so watch this space!
