KLu Opendays 2006

Airshow

Like every year, lots of demo teams attended the Opendays. The Read Arrows were present on Friday. The commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Blue Angels, the Reds made a special flyby in formation with the Angels.

The French Patrouille de France were present on Saturday. Other demo teams included Asas de Portugal (this year with a special color scheme), Royal Jordanian Falcons, Patrouille Suisse and the Midnight Hawks. A Dutch Chinook performed a Bami drop, a first for the Opendays.

This year there was a special performance during the mid-day break. French Christian Moullec flew formations with 12 whitehead gooses! This endangered species of goose learn how to migrate by flying with Christian and his Ultralight.

 

Second part of the airshow included lots of demo teams and special SAR rescue demo, showing the Frisian flag in a special, very brave, way! Of course the highlight of the show, The Blue Angels, concluded the day (a exclusive report on the next page).
