Sunday September 5th
Team two arrived at Payerne around ten o'clock, early enough to avoid the traffic jams. They found a nice spot near the flight line with PC-7s of the Swiss Air Force. The sun was behind the crowd, so photo opportunities for the show were great. The highlight for this day was the C-121C Connie; the N73544 (54-0156) from Breitling, which made three passes. Because the Swiss Air Force has plans to buy additional fighters, the latest generation of fighters were present and shown flying to the public; Saab JAS-39A Grippen (39148/148), Eurofighter EF-2000T (JG-73 30+10), the French Rafale B (301) from Dassault and just of the production line, a F/A-18F from VFA-103 (166513/AA-104). The PC-7 team flew together with a F/A-18C. Because the show celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force, a formation with 4 Hunters and 1 Venom FB50 was shown. These privately owned Hunters are great to see.
